CBS News veteran Scott Pelley recently told CNN that he lost his CBS Evening News anchor position by complaining to management about his hostile work environment. Pelley said it was hostile for women and men so he went all the way to lecherous network chairman Les Moonves with his complaints. At the next contract renewal point, Pelley's services were no longer needed. He still reports for the CBS news magazine 60 Minutes.
After a surprisingly close primary win for Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin, I asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell if he would offer support for Bevin's re-election in the November general election. McConnell and Bevin have a complicated relationship stemming back to Bevin's campaign to unseat McConnell in 2014. The McConnell team labeled their opponent Bailout Bevin, calling him a con man and liar. Today on WHAS Radio, Senator McConnell promised to fully support Bevin's re-election. Kentucky's senior senator also touted attorney general candidate Daniel Cameron, a former McConnell staffer. Kentucky has not had a Republican attorney general since the 1940s. 📻 @senatemajldr Mitch McConnell on helping @GovMattBevin win in November, acrimony between @realDonaldTrump & @SpeakerPelosi, value of impeachment for @GOP, and raising cigs
So proud of my childhood best buddy Dr. Henry Sadlo 👨🏼⚕️ Louisville's #1 cardiologist was just inducted into the St. Stephen Martyr Hall of Fame. @UofLPhysicians #PiperCourt #TheRuffians pic.twitter.com/z1AEWapHfd— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) May 17, 2019 Dr. Henry Sadlo has been my running mate since we met in 1963. There is not a kinder, more compassionate person on this earth. I'm delighted to see that he has been inducted into our elementary school's hall of fame. I went to UK and he went to UofL but that didn't slow our love and respect for each other. While Henry was away doing his medical school residency in Atlanta, I hung around with his dad, a kindred spirit. Henry and I still talk
How did the world's most famous entertainer get from here... to here? The sweet face of young Michael Jackson soared to worldwide fame first with his brothers in the Jackson 5. Then Michael's star bolted into unprecedented superstardom with his solo work, especially Thriller. Some family dysfunction became public knowledge once Michael split from the group. The patriarch Joseph Jackson was a fierce disciplinarian and thought to be exploitative of his sons. A rift developed between Jermaine and Michael as both tried to widen their solo identities. Jermaine has a few small hits on the radio. Michael Jackson made billionaire status, spent most of it with reckless abandon, accused Sony Music's chairman of stealing his money, and then dragged his ragged self back into
A study from Northwestern University lays bare the obvious political bias Google foists on people searching news stories. Google algorithms slant heavily toward liberal flavored news accounts. Yawn. We know Google pursues liberal causes. That's not the real story here. What the hell happened to an industry that's primary mission is supposed to be centered on objectivity? Look at how easily we can assign a political flavoring to various news outlets. That's pathetic. What kind of jellyfish are journalism schools pumping out into the world? Does no one have the integrity to see both sides of an argument? If you're a liberal or conservative activist journalist, you are a fraud and a disgrace to the basic principles of
Listening to people whine about the Derby outcome is more irritating than getting a bugle blast at point blank range. Let it go, people. Country House is the winner. Maximum Security was moved to the first position behind the furthest trailing horse that he impeded. Thus, Maximum Security is officially listed as finishing #17 out of nineteen horses in the race. Mary and I had a ball at Unbridled Eve and the next day at the 145th Kentucky Derby... ...until the racing stewards cancelled my winning ticket by disqualifying winner Maximum Security. Oops! Ain't gonna bump no more with no big, fat racehorse. Yahoo Sports columnist Pat Forde tells the jaw-dropping tale of unbridled elation followed by Maximum Security's designation as "a racing immortal for all the wrong reasons." President Trump weighed in with a misspelled tweet, later reposted with the correct spelling of Kentucky.
📻 Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell jumped on the radio with me to talk about chicken chomping Democrats, why he is proudly called The Grim Reaper, defining socialism in 2019, if investigating the investigators is overkill, Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling AG William Barr a criminal, Sen. Mazie Hirono lobbing 🔥 at Trump, just WHO IS REALLY IN CHARGE!, and Liberals' favorite Kentucky Derby horse 🎙️ 🏇🏽 840WHAS #USpolitics
