#WHAS100 🎧 Radioactive radio rebels rock! Meet Mandy, Mo, Di, Joe, Bob, Johnny Z, and Adolph!
WHAS is the most powerful radio signal in Kentucky. It can be streamed worldwide but its over-the-air signal pierces atop most of the contiguous 48 United States. WHAS Radio will turn 100 next July, pumping out news, interviews, and information 24/7. Whether we're talking to Dr. Dunkenstein, Dr. Fauci, or Dr. Pepper, we are delivering audio and video content to keep our community informed. Thanks for hanging with us for our first century! That's our boy Ian Vertrees above. He's a deejay on WQMF and the daily producer and voice contributor on the Terry Meiners Show. The iHeart machine moves because it is fueled by strong employees. #WHAS100 🎧🎙 @MandyConnell is one of the greatest talk show talents in America, once dominating midday
Burnt. 🔥 For good. Nonetheless, John Schnatter still believes he will return to lead Papa John’s. 🙏 #PapaBless 🙄
"The morning after detailing is martyrdom, Schnatter wants to show off his mansion." In a new Bloomberg interview, deposed Papa John's pizza company founder John Schnatter still yammers about his delusional dream of returning to lead the company. It will never happen. Schnatter laughably spotlighted himself instead of pizza in Papa John's TV commercials for years. Once company directors started easing him out of the ads to focus on showing the product, Schnatter got his feelings hurt and created his own commercials. He paid to run them in certain markets to "prove" that viewers wanted to see him, not just pizza. To bolster his on screen presence, Schnatter courted popular sports personalities to share the stage with him on Papa John's commercials. NFL

More WHAS100 personalities share the air to honor Kentucky’s first radio station
Those are some good dudes. Joe Donovan, Doug McElvein, Van Vance, Wayne Perkey, Jack Fox, Milton Metz, and I stood for that photo in 1993. They're all outstanding broadcasters who helped maintain WHAS Radio's legendary status as one of America's giants in news/talk. Joe and Milton are gone. Doug McElvein was on the radio last month and can be found in an earlier post on this website. The other fellows will all sit for interviews in the near future. I've been speaking with one prominent WHAS voice every week leading up to the station's 100th birthday in July 2022. I LOVED catching up with my friend @terrymeiners on @840WHAS radio today. We talked about family, @JudeRedfield, #Covid_19 my life in tv news and my
Kentucky beats Florida 🏈 couches are burned 🔥 Beasman is juiced😼
A party in Lexington 35 years in the making … #ForTheTeam Chapter Five 😼🏈 pic.twitter.com/c3h3ZQ0Nd1 — Kentucky Football (@UKFootball) October 7, 2021 KENTUCKY FOOTBALL IS A THING! The Kentucky Wildcats jumped from #31 to #16 in the Associated Press poll after a hard fought victory over #10 Florida. It was Kentucky's first home victory over the Gators since 1986. Street party couch burnings went on until the wee hours. UK is now 5-0 and welcoming a struggling LSU squad into Kroger Field on Saturday night. In a rare departure from oddsmaker behavior, Kentucky is a 2 point favorite. Finish the play. Finish the game. Finish what you start. Do that, and anything can happen. pic.twitter.com/XVBvTWTo9F — LSU Football (@LSUfootball) October 7, 2021 THE BEASMAN florida goes down LATER GATOR! LATER GATOR! LATER
#WHAS100years 🎧 Spotlighting prominent voices from WHAS Radio’s century of broadcasting
Our celebration continues as we roll toward the 100th birthday of WHAS Radio, Louisville's 50,000 watt blowtorch. Each week, I profile a former personality or station leader to reflect of the incredible history of Kentucky's first licensed radio station. Visit this link for my interviews with Gary Burbank, Liz Curtis, Doug McElvein, Cindi Sullivan, and Mark Levin. Now on to more great conversations with WHAS Radio legends! We will continue these visits every Friday at 4:35 PM until the 100th birthday of WHAS on July 18, 2022. 🎧 #WHAS100 🎙 The brainiest of all @840WHAS colleagues is likely Barry Bernson. We chatted about his media career as a master storyteller, anchor, reporter, actor, narrator, and happy dad + grandfather. LISTEN https://t.co/xqH3Fuv48H #WHAS100years #radio #TV
🎢WHAS🎡Day🌭at🍕the🍔Kentucky🍗State🍦Fair🎪is🥇always🎸a🐖hoot🐓
There's nothing quite like broadcasting at the Kentucky State Fair. Fun people, great food, sweet farm animals, and constant noise. Plus, you get to meet namesakes who sell knives and stun guns...always good to have on standby! Our broadcast teams are terrific. We love getting out of the usual studio environment and interacting with listeners. The pandemic limits up close conversations but a friendly wave is better than nothing. Conversations with some vendors are downright hilarious. Meet Dave Taylor from Sivori foods. Listen to "A taste of the Kentucky State Fair" on Spreaker. Fully vaccinated peeps like Miss America Heather French Henry are always welcome for up close and personal interaction! Our crew is not shy about wolfing down Kentucky Pork Producers pork chop
