Our media business has fallen into the trap of taking sides. Many people throw heat at media outlets now for excessive WOKE coverage. As a result, lots of stories that may spotlight minority missteps are reduced in scope or ignored altogether. Media managers fear being labeled racist for prolonged reporting on stories involving crimes allegedly committed by minorities. That's a tricky measurement in today's WOKE culture. So many media outlets find themselves overplaying to the WOKE crowd to avoid blowback from Twitter bullies. The Cancel Culture is always ready to pounce on stories involving race. This week gave us two stark examples. SOHO Karen's first stories appeared 4 days ago. It's only a cell phone dispute but since there is a racial component
An African American sixth grade girl created a media firestorm by claiming that three white classmates, all boys, bullied her and cut off her dreadlocks. Amari Allen's story was shouted from every media mountaintop as America was roiled in another racist horror story. Except that it never happened. After a few days of media hysteria and thorough investigation, the girl admitted that she made up the entire story. Instagram "self love ambassador" Derrick Jackson joked that the girl's dramatic lies were inspired by Jussie Smollett. He's the obscure actor who made up a ludicrous story about Trump supporters beating him at 2 AM in Chicago. Police investigated and discovered that Smollett arranged for a fake attack to generate publicity to raise his

It worked. All charges have been dropped without an admission of guilt. Smollett's $10,000 in bail money was not returned and he agreed to two days of community service. And that's that. After last week's meltdown over Lyin' Jussie Smollett's ridiculous hoax, the superintendent of Chicago police Eddie Johnson dismantles Smollett's alibis. Johnson talked with Good Morning America's Robin Roberts, the anchor whose interview with Smollett will be used as evidence against him. Here is the check that Smollett wrote to one of the Nigerian brothers who were paid to make it appear they were attacking the Empire actor.
"I still want to believe with everything that has happened, that there is something called justice. Cuz if I stop believing that, then what's it all for?" Jussie Smollett to ABC News on February 14, prior to Smollett being charged with faking a hate crime against himself. Here is ABC's Good Morning America on February 21st, the morning that Smollett turned himself in to Chicago police. Note that no cameras were there to record Smollett entering the police building when often times media outlets are tipped off in advance to get the video of a "perp walk." "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett is in police custody and has been charged with felony disorderly conduct for filing a false report, according to
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Remember how the media and celebrities tweeted their disgust and demonization of the Covington Catholic students in Washington DC on January 23rd? A few of those evil high schoolers were wearing MAGA hats so clearly they are Satan's spawn! Oops. Pump the brakes. That story was way off. One week later and lots of the same prominent buffoons fell for another false narrative. "This was an attempted modern day lynching" - @kamalaharris"The vicious attack on actor Jussie Smollett was an attempted modern-day lynching." - @corybooker "The racist, homophobic attack on @JussieSmollett is an affront to our humanity." - @speakerpelosi https://t.co/MtkPn4u4xl— Cameron Gray (@Cameron_Gray) February 14, 2019 Imagine
