A former executive at Louisville’s Yum Brands has been fired after video surfaced showing him assaulting Uber driver Edward Caban in California. Benjamin Golden, who worked in investor relations for Yum before taking a marketing position with the company’s Taco Bell division, beat the driver who asked him to get out of the car due to Golden’s state of inebriation.
Golden, 32, has been described as “a really nice person” by Louisville co-workers. Yum Brands has reportedly offered to pay for Golden’s post-employment therapy for anger management.
Uber offered to pay to clean Caban’s car after he pepper sprayed the abusive customer. Caban says he is finished working as a driver for the ride-sharing service.
