The Roaring 20s are busting out all across the United States. President Donald Trump gave his third State of the Union Address on February 4, 2020 and touted “The Great American Comeback.” He touched on incredibly strong economic numbers, historically low unemployment rates, stronger international trade deals, and claims that America is once again respected around the world.
Democrats sighed. Republicans cheered. Trump announced that he had promoted 100 year old Charles McGee, a former Tuskegee Airman, as America’s latest general in the U.S. Air Force. He also asked Melania Trump to pin the Presidential Medal of Freedom on radio host Rush Limbaugh who was just diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.

The President spotlighted certain school children, moms, and people of service from across the country.
“We are once again standing up for freedom.”
As President Trump stepped to the lectern, he handed copies of his speech to Vice President Mike Pence and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. She reached to shake his hand and he turned away without further acknowledgment.
While introducing President Trump, Pelosi skipped protocol by not using the traditional language “It is my high privilege and distinct honor” to introduce the President of the United States. She simply said “Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States.”
Pelosi is the driving force behind the impeachment proceedings that launched in the House of Representatives and are expected to end in a Senate acquittal.
Pelosi was clearly flustered by Trump’s rebuff.[/caption]
At the end of Trump’s address, Speaker Pelosi ripped her paper copy into pieces.

Pelosi’s angry finale does not bode well for bipartisan coordination going forward.
Many other liberals announced on Twitter that they would not recognize “this impeached President” by attending the speech. Nonetheless, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez took enough interest in it from a remote location to slam one of American’s honored by Trump.

Anger from Pelosi and disgust from AOC added to the tweet below from actor/director Rob Reiner hardly reflect the commonly displayed, virtue signaling Liberal message of CO-EXIST.
Only one thing to say about Rush Limbaugh getting a Presidential Medal if Freedom at The State of the Union: I loathe this fucking man.

"I think the end of everything, that speech and tearing it up let's us get a pretty easy forecast of odds of legislation on these things, even the things they do agree about in terms of helping the works class," @margbrennan reports on @SpeakerPelosi's memorable response to Trump pic.twitter.com/LspP0cMF0y

Prior to the State of the Union address, two prominent members of Kentucky’s federal delegation joined me on 840WHAS. Senator Rand Paul and Congressman John Yarmuth both gave me extensive comments on the SOTU and the final curtain on impeachment.
First, here is my radio conversation with Sen. Rand Paul on a day when media claimed that he had outed the impeachment whistleblower on the Senate floor. Sen. Paul said that claim is “not technically correct.”
📻 @RandPaul just told me that he DID NOT out the whistleblower on #SenateFloor, also: did he advise @realDonaldTrump to avoid #impeachment topic in tonight's #SOTU @840WHAS audio https://t.co/BDQE2IUQFr #infrastructure #educationtaxbreaks pic.twitter.com/AyO5c8j4CG

Rep. John Yarmuth also jumped on the radio with me just a few hours ahead of the State of the Union Address to give his view of the Trump presidency. Rep. Yarmuth has not attended prior Trump SOTU addresses but was happy to give a Democrat perspective on how his team will compete with Trump’s robust economy in the 2020 election.
📻 @RepJohnYarmuth on Iowa FAIL, tonight's #SOTU, how @TheDemocrats run against @realDonaldTrump's strong economy, #impeachment finale, and why @donlemon didn't help Dems laughing at "credulous boomer rube" Trump fans. @840WHAS audio https://t.co/ZbO0CdKqik #Election2020 pic.twitter.com/ztevPC09mN

We are still not one America. Last night in Iowa, a Democrat caucus voter asked if she could change her vote for Pete Buttigieg to a different candidate after learning that “Mayor Pete” is a gay man. A gentle precinct captain tried to reason with her that all humans matter and that “love is love” but the voter wasn’t having it.
Wow. We have much work to do.
