The Terry Talk: Senator Mitch McConnell one-to-one on domestic and global events

Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, WHAS Radio, April 1, 2024

“This is the most dangerous time since the fall of the Berlin Wall.”

Here is my wide ranging conversation with Senator Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving Senate Party Leader in American history (4/1/24)

I’ve appreciated Senator McConnell’s annual visits for one-on-one conversations. We usually make national news for various statements he makes on my show.

One guy that Senator McConnell can’t be persuaded to mention is the fellow pictured below.

Senator McConnell wouldn’t say much in our interview when I asked why fellow Senator Rand Paul has been trashing him as an out-of-touch Liberal sympathizer. Senator Paul recently claimed on Fox News that if McConnell was up for reelection today that he would lose to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell are no longer friendly with each other.

One of the most eye-popping moments in my WHAS studio came in November 2015 when Senator McConnell finished his interview and my next guest entered the room. Governor-elect Matt Bevin, who lost a bitter campaign to McConnell a year earlier, was now more deferential and accommodating for the Senate Majority Leader.
