University of Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino and I chatted this morning about his upcoming "day in court" at NCAA headquarters, this weekend's Final Four, and next year's UofL basketball team. Rick Pitino on NCAA inquiry: "What I've done the last 30 years in terms of being compliant to all NCAA rules, no deals with agents" 1/3— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) March 31, 2017 2/3 Pitino: "AAU coaches, nothing like that. Tin foil, good buddy
From: John Fretter Sent: Wednesday, March 15, 2017 12:45 PM To: MEINERS, TERRY A Subject: Easily impugned Good afternoon Terry, I listened to a few minutes of your show yesterday just in time to hear you slander Alex Jones. I find it fascinating that you freely admitted that you really didn't know who he was, what he believes, and even where his show aired. ("web show are something"). I believe you referred to him as a "conspiracy theorists" and something along the lines of a "kook". Your sidekick whoever that was said that Alex Jones screams a lot. Have you ever heard of Chris Matthews? He tends to get a bit loud and even seems to slobber. Despite that, I was offended at your assessment
Steve Beshear’s rebuttal to Trump takes friendly fire from MSNBC
Former Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear gave the Democrat Party's official response to President Trump's first joint congressional address. Even the liberal hosts of MSNBC mocked the selection of Beshear instead of a younger, cooler Democrat. See below. Republican state senator Dr. Ralph Alvarado took Beshear's numbers and claims to task in print. Click below to hear my radio chat with Governor Beshear the day after his nationwide address from inside a Lexington diner. He answers questions about who controlled the script, his intended message, and his reaction to the criticism from MSNBC and other pundits.

It’s always time for a heart-to-heart with Hank
Henry Sadlo and I have been best friends since childhood when we were next door neighbors. Today, thousands know Dr. Sadlo as a respected cardiologist and all-around good soul. For Heart Health Month, I invited him to my radio and TV shows to give simple heart maintenance guidance and to talk about the coronary calcium scans that are giving new clarity to heart health. Thanks also to Regan Judd and Dr. Garth Beache for talking about challenges and remedies for heart issues. Later that day, Henry and I had a throughly personal radio conversation about our lives and heart health guidelines about exercise, eating, alcohol consumption, and signs of troubles. Happy Heart Month! Keep your ticker

Cards top Cats 73-70 guaranteeing Blue Christmas
UofL played a terrific game against a talent-heavy Kentucky squad, relieving pressure on what's been a lopsided rivalry. Big win for Louisville. Great night for Quentin Snider & Deng Adel vs UK's vaunted guard tandem of Malik Monk and De'Aaron Fox. My radio buddy The Beasman isn't happy about his Cats, his Coach, or his Christmas. Along with Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson, Louisville Ballard alum Quentin "Q" Snider both became the toasts of the holiday season on Planet Red. One little Q down in Louville knew... this Christmas would not be blue#L1C4 pic.twitter.com/RqR8d6Eqn2— Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) December 22, 2016 THE BEASMAN cats lose to cards (sad with sniffles) MAYBE COACH CAL SHOULDA STOLE YOUR PLAYBOOK, YOU BUNCH OF CROSS-EYED, TWO-BIT, GOD-HATIN
Remember no man is a failure who has friends
Frank Capra's timeless It's a Wonderful Life was released in 1946, featuring Lionel Barrymore as sniveling miser Mr. Potter. But first things first. The 1939 radio play of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol features Barrymore cast as another miserly cad. Narrator Orson Welles refers to lead actor Barrymore as "the best loved actor of our time." 840WHAS Radio replays this incredible production every Christmas Eve. It warms the cockles of my heart. My holiday is not complete until I hear this play cackling over WHAS Radio. And now...meet some of my friends. My long broadcast career has allowed me to work with the best of the best in media. Just as the "Wonderful Life" angel Clarence wrote to George Bailey: Remember no man is a
