Timeless Tony is celebrated as a Sopranos prequel goes into production
I am looking forward to a Sopranos prequel with the son of James Gandolfini playing the role of young Tony. There's a casting call today in New Jersey for extras to appear in the film. A few months ago, the cast of The Sopranos got together with NBC to celebrate the show and the life of the late James Gandolfini. Drea de Matteo was not present for the reunion. Here's a 2004 interview where the status of her Sopranos character is hazy. At the time of this Jay Leno appearance, Drea had started on the new NBC comedy "Joey." Also gone is Tony Soprano's mom, but in the prequel Livia will be at her height of irksomeness. I'll mute those parts
At least Hillary and Barack tweeted the word Easter, CNN reporter lances Trump with ham-handed “small stuff” reference after hundreds are killed
With approximately 300 Christians killed and 500 more wounded in Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama struggled to find the right word to describe the victims. Some of the victims were surely non-Christian but the targets were Catholic churches and hotels that cater to western tourists. So, yes, mostly Christians. It was one of the most severe mass casualty terrorist attack series since 9/11. At least twenty four people were arrested following the bombings. What flavor of terrorists brought these horrors? Mum's the word by many media outlets. Labeling the perpetrators is tricky business in an ultra-sensitive news environment where accusations against the "marginalized" are unwelcome. Only a few media references about the
Katherine Switzer broke through to give us the only genderless test of timed human athleticism
Katherine Switzer is an American hero, the first women to register and run the Boston Marathon back in the 60s when it was a male-only event. A race official spotted her and tried to yank her off of the course. Katherine and her colleagues weren't having it. She persisted and finished the race. It opened the gates for women's competition in all levels of sports. To this day, marathon running is the one true test of human athleticism without regard to gender. There are no red tees. There is no smaller sized ball. Lifting weights, riding bikes, pull-ups, javelin throws...they're all measurements of skill and endurance but marathon running is in a class of its own. The marathon course is 26.2
What is amazing? What is hilarious? “I’ll take Whore Ads for a thousand, Alex.”
With America transfixed on James Holzhauer and his incredible run on Jeopardy... let's revisit some of the other classic Jeopardy episodes.
Toughest job in America? The one held by Sarah Huckabee Sanders
Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation notes several instances where Pres. Trump pressured his top aides to lie or mislead. One day after the president fired FBI Director James Comey, @PressSec told reporters Comey no longer had the confidence of Trump and other people. pic.twitter.com/8EiLL2Dn5E— CBS This Morning (@CBSThisMorning) April 19, 2019 Is there a double standard when it comes media treatment of conservative women vs liberal women? Is the Pope Catholic? Reverse the roles above and show a white woman comedian torching a woman of color at the White House Correspondents Dinner. You already know that the OUTRAGE machine would be in overdrive. Selective feminism creates exaggerated fawning coverage of liberal women and guaranteed derision of conservative women. We in
PGA star Justin Thomas aces the philanthropy challenge with his new foundation to assist needy children, junior golf, and military families
Louisville’s first family of golf launched the Justin Thomas Foundation to help needy children, junior golf programs, and military families. 🏌🏾♂️⛳️ The great ones never forget their hometown. 🏆 Great to chat with Justin again. The last time we spoke, he was a 14-year-old who'd just won a tournament and his mom was driving him home. He's still shy and humble even though he's won a PGA Championship, the FedEx Cup, and has been ranked at the top of the world golf list. Not too shabby for a Saint X boy who "scrambled to play at any course" and met up with teammates at tournaments. JT loves his hometown adventures when he gets a chance to visit. I asked this nice young
Jeremy Kappell misspoke and lost his job. This meteorologist refuses to fade into the sunset.
📻 Here's meteorologist Jeremy Kappell on his lawsuit vs Rochester's WHEC, the cruel actions of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren & gutless TV general manager Dick Reingold, support from Al Roker, Don Lemon, Craig Melvin, and Rochester viewers, other weather people mispronouncing MLK without a beatdown, and how public shaming strengthened Jeremy's family & faith 🎙️ #bullies #media DETAILS on the Kappell website. Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren demanded Jeremy Kappell's firing without ever speaking to him or communicating with him in any capacity. Mayor Warren understands forgiveness as she is married to a man who drove the getaway car in a jewelry store robbery 20 years ago. She also defended a Rochester council member accused of embezzling tens of thousands of dollars,
