When comedians or pundits joke about the spouses and children of U.S. presidents, there is hell to pay. "Leave the kids out of it," cry the president's toadies. "The (spouse) didn't ask for this." In the case of the Obama family, the doubly damning cry of racism is heaped upon the commentator. When it comes to presidential or vice presidential candidates, the gloves are completely off. Many learned minds say assimilation is better than self-imposed segregation. Let's be clear. Racism exists in America. Nonetheless, wasting progressive capital complaining about movie awards in liberal Hollywood is beyond ridiculous. Commensurate diversity in boardrooms, company hierarchy, and academia? Absolutely. Measured diversity in the financial sector? No doubt. Affirmative action for awards shows? Get serious. University of Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino broke his silence on the sex scandal involving recruits and prostitutes meeting in the school dorm named after his late brother-in-law. He's angry about media coverage given to an author whose storyline has been shown to have credibility issues. Pitino also says that "one person" (former assistant Andre McGee) probably did arrange some trysts and the head coach is baffled by the violations.
