Ron Clay & Tom Clay welcome in 1982
Two American broadcast legends on one video, the father/son tandem of Tom and Ron Clay (Clague). While Tom was visiting for the holidays, Ron had his pop appear with him on our morning cable TV show. It was taped for use a day or two later as fill-in material during the holiday schedule. I was still on Christmas break from the show and Tom filled in as Ron's partner. The local WLRS cable show was usually live on weekday mornings. People watched us do our WLRS radio show and during times music or commercials were on the radio, we could turn to the TV cameras and improvise racier content that was suitable for cable. UofL Cards in Puerto Rico
The University of Louisville Cardinals are scheduled to play 9 games in 6 days, a special series of exhibition games against the Puerto Rico National team. Rick Pitino is coaching the PR players and his UofL assistants are coaching the Cardinals. Pitino (and returning players) say that this new team has a much stronger bond than last year's team. They break every huddle with a shout of FAMILY. Puerto Rico reporter: "What do you want to accomplish here?" Rick Pitino: "We want to win." Reporter: "Which team?" Pitino: "Yes." While Ralph Willard led the Louisville starters, Rick Pitino coached his Puerto Rico team at the other end of the floor. But there is more than basketball for spectators in San Juan. Hey look! I finally

Trump is Megyn all the wrong moves
Cranky old white guys unite! The Donald needs every single one of your GET OFF MY LAWN, sexist, racist, xenophobic, mobility scooterized FIX ME A SAMMICH votes. (cranky old white guys love ALL CAPS to express their disdain) When Fox News commentator Megyn Kelly opened the GOP presidential debate quizzing Trump on his use of harsh language to describe women, Trump responded with venom. He kept slamming Kelly in subsequent interviews as his minions attacked Kelly online. @terrymeiners Bull Shit Meiners !!— Mike Stratton (@bgpirate49) August 7, 2015 Kelly refused Trump's demand for her to apologize, saying would continue to do her job "without fear or favor." The Washington Post FACT CHECKER affirmed that Trump made all of the slurs Kelly referenced.
Inadvertent photobomb shocker
While broadcasting at Louisville's #FandomFest, I stumbled into the actor Billy Krank who plays the son of Ernest P. Worrell (a goofy 80s TV pitchman created by the late Jim Varney). Only after posting the photo online did readers notice the nearly naked figure in the background. The guy at FandomFest said he was Princess Leia. I apologize for ruining your childhood memories.
A woman is the only person who has challenges
Life is challenging. But only for women. Everyone else has it made. Tell her you are sorry that you have no challenges. You feel bad that your life is perfect. She needs to hear that. Thanks.
Meet Amanda. She is alone on Trump’s 757.
Amanda seems like a nice person but she laughs while watching movies with gunshots.
The real Captain Kirk
We had an excellent Q&A session with ESPN College Game Day star Kirk Herbstreit at the downtown Marriott. Kirk was funny, candid, and talked of his love for the growth of the game at Louisville and Kentucky. The luncheon was a benefit for The Parklands of Floyd's Fork. (photo by John Nation)
