Welcome to interview school! I am fortunate enough to interview a great many community leaders, change agents, politicians, celebrities, and athletes. People frequently ask me about my casual interviewing techniques and why I don't crush my subjects. First, I can only be me. My personality dictates that I speak to guests on the air the exact same way that I would in a store, on the sidewalk, or in my home. More importantly, I feel that a quality interview involves listening to the guest and not making myself a part of the narrative. The guest is the star. Let's look at some variance in interview segments by Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo from CNN. This video is a compelling takedown of Black Lives Matter

The Facts of Life are flying out of the White House again
Feel the media love from "impartial" New York Times writer Annie Karni on President Joe Biden's press secretary Jen Psaki: "Her noncombative briefing was designed to project a return to normalcy, a sense that the briefing room, like the rest of the West Wing just hours into the Biden administration, is back in the hands of substantive government professionals who are not seeking to undermine the role of the press." Veteran Washington insider Jen Psaki (SOCK-ee) held her first press briefing for President Joe Biden just a few hours after his inauguration. She's a breath of fresh air, acknowledging that she will always be truthful and that everyone in the room may not agree with everything they hear from the new
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris get the keys to the White House
Joseph R. Biden, a former vice president and senator, was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States at 11:49 a.m. President Biden immediately signed multiple executive orders reversing policies (immigration, travel bans, climate action) put into place by his predecessor President Donald Trump. Before the Bidens officially entered the White House as the new First Couple, there was a brief walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. Attendance was extremely limited due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris also walked the route. Lady Gaga won the day on the entertainment front. Her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner was magnificent. Three former presidents attended the inauguration ceremony. An additional event brought them together with President Biden and
Breonna Taylor, saint or sinner, continues to divide the culture
The New York Times released a video simulation and multiple reports recapping the shooting of Breonna Taylor by Louisville Metro Police Department officers last March. It is compelling on many fronts and illustrates the tragedy of Taylor's death juxtaposed with the challenges for law enforcement ย safely serving warrants. No cameras captured the final minutes of Breonna Taylorโs life. We used crime scene evidence and testimony to reconstruct what happened and show the mistakes that led to her killing by police. Dontaie know how good he is?
The last time Kentucky basketball was this bad, 25-year-old Adolph Rupp was a wrestling coach in Iowa and these slugs were repping the Cats. Most of them were local boys from so-called Big Blue Nation. That counts for a lot around these parts. University of Kentucky basketball fans are reeling from a six game losing streak, with the latest burn by arch-rival Louisville. Some UK zealots are calling for Coach John Calipari to step down. Others question whether his one-and-done methodology is now outdated. Most UK fans agree that Calipari needs to give more playing time to Dontaie Allen. Why? Because he's a homegrown basketball player who was named Mr. Basketball! He's a Kentuckian, and in the minds of the majority, that makes Allen

A highly decorated American hero from the Greatest Generation joined me on the radio
On December 7, 1941 after Pearl Harbor was attacked, 15-year-old Glen Fisher lied about his age so that he could join the U.S. Army and defend America. The Bedford, Kentucky native was eventually sent to the front lines and fought through the end of the war. Colonel Fisher is a highly decorated veteran who was injured by Nazi artillery. Instead of going home, he insisted that he could go back to his unit and continue the fight. Now 94, Colonel Fisher told some of his story today on 840WHAS ๐ LISTEN tinyurl.com/y5zgos7m #GreatestGeneration #WWII #WoundedWarrior #WarHeroes 2/2 ๐บ๐ธ Now 94, retired Colonel Fisher told some of his incredible story today on @840WHAS ๐ LISTEN https://t.co/qoQk09u6Pg #GreatestGeneration #WWII #WoundedWarrior #WarHeroes ๐บ๐ธ
Louisville leaders react to the arrest of NFAC leader Grandmaster Jay
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer declared racism a public health crisis in his city. Fox News talk show host Tucker Carlson claims Fischer is using an immeasurable noble cause to mask his failures as the city's chief executive. Mayor Fischer joined me on 840WHAS a few days later and we discussed Carlson's derision, plus the fresh news that Black militia leader Grandmaster Jay had been arrested for pointing an AR rifle at law enforcement. Many Black leaders feel that the arrest of the militia leader affirms law enforcement's systemic intimidation of minorities. .@louisvillemayor Greg Fischer responds to today's arrest of Grandmaster J, and says @TuckerCarlson is "grandstanding and ill-informed" for slamming his leadership. We also discussed #RacialJustice remedies, and his relationship with @JoeBiden
Who’s riding shotgun next to Joe Biden? Is it AOC or Pelosi?

Dr. Anthony Fauci on attending the Kentucky Derby during a pandemic
Dr. Anthony Fauci joined me on @840WHAS to discuss safely attending the @KentuckyDerby, fast-tracking a vaccine, football challenges, getting business back on track, and how to maneuver in an anti-authority & anti-science culture. ๐ audio here: https://t.co/kb2nwYFrBP #COVID19 pic.twitter.com/F3lA8g7nXr โ Terry Meiners (@terrymeiners) August 7, 2020 I had a nice radio chat with America's top infectious disease researcher Dr. Anthony Fauci. We discussed how to safely attend the Kentucky Derby during the coronavirus pandemic. We also dug into the challenges facing leaders during an anti-authority and anti-science period in our culture. And what about football! The White House staff gave me 7 minutes with Dr. Fauci so we crammed as much info in as we could. America's ๐ท top health official Dr. Anthony
